This product works effectively in keeping my cat from jumping on countertops. Good news for one and all who are concerned about cost of canisters, a regular can of compressed air works after prying off the top and replacing with Stayaway top. Stayaway alarm & sprayer work great on most any aerosol can. Saves so much $$$$$ since compressed air is generally .50/can (I buy them whenever they are on sale /can). Now my cat just see's the can and runs! LOL I correct my initial rating since I contacted the company and they refused to sell the alarm part only. I offered per top. No surprise since they can sucker folks into re-purchasing canister in some cases,

We were having a problem with the cats getting on the cabinets during the night. We were never able to catch them at it, but we knew they were getting up there because of the cat hair we would occasionally find, plus paw prints from the sink if it was damp.

We got the mini-scarecrow, turned it on, and went to bed. Before we'd even gotten to bed, we heard the mini-scarecrow go off. When the first cat came down off the ceiling, she disappeared under a bed and we never saw her again that night. It went off again a couple of hours later, this time our heavier tomcat, and we heard the scrambling sounds and the thud of him landing on the floor, and that was the end our our problems with the cats getting on the counter top! We turned it on every night for a week, and they never made another attempt. If it went off accidentally when we stepped in front of it, both cats disappeared under the bed.

Works like a charm!

I bought both stayway and catscram. The refill canister on stayway is too expensive. I needed it in a high traffic area. No refills on catscram just buy the AC adapter and you are ready to go.
