BREAKFAST FOR TWO & THANKFULS

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Angel Sammy and Teddy (Two Spoiled Cats) have a knack for selecting silly inspiration photos for us to write poems about. This week’s is no exception.

I have written a rather non-auspicious poem to accompany it. The poem is a conversation between the waitress and the cowboy. I think you can easily identify which lines belong to each individual.

Breakfast for Two

I’m sorry sir, we don’t serve horses.
But your sign says, “Service Animals Welcome.”
Of course, they are welcome, just not to dine.
Well, do you think that seems fair?
The Health Department makes the rules.
Do you have their phone number? I’d like to complain!
I think you’ll find them unwavering on this.
Fine, may I place an order to go?
Of course, what can I get for you?
An apple, carrot, and bowl of oatmeal.
And for you, sir?
The same, please.

Thankful Thursday

Thursday is the day each week when Kitties Blue and I share not only poetry but also the things for which we are thankful.

Well…I have survived the first week post knee replacement surgery, and it was not an easy task! I had absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into. My physical therapist says I am ahead of schedule in my recovery for which I am truly thankful. I am praying this will continue.

I’m thankful for my friends and fellow bloggers who have checked in on me.

Having Dad Tom to take care of me is a blessing.
