My kitten had almost strangled himself on breakaway collars twice. I bought an elastic collar for my other cat in Germany and he had worn it for years with no problems after losing every breakaway collar we put on him. None of the local stores carry elastic collars.

My kitten, who always freaked out when I put a collar on him, didn't bother with this one at all. He just walked off and played. It has some decent reflective properties, and a nice metal loop to attach tags to. I would have bought these at double the price, which is what they cost after paying for shipping.

I have two male cats, brothers, who wrestle contantly. When they were kittens, I was able to buy elastic collars in our local stores with no problems. But I can't find these locally in an adult size. These collars are completely stretchy, and I've had lots of luck in the past with keeping them on my cats, and not lost someplace. The collars that have the black quick-release safety buckles just don't work for my guys. They're too active, and have lost many many collars both from wrestling and exploring the yard. The problem with these elastic collars is that they start looking ratty sooner than the nonelastic collars, but I don't care. The cats are comfortable, and other than getting snags and pulls, the collars do their job.

Definitely one of the best stretch collars for cats.
It has remained on my cat for the longest of any similar collar.
Far superior to the snap release ones.
